Lightning goes Europe

Home of the Right Stuff

In Spring 2016, Airheadsfly.com gladly accepted an invitation by the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) to personally meet the new F-35A Lightning II up close at Edwards Air Force Base in California, ahead of the Transatlantic flight of both jets. Our report from Edwards is here.

Baltic Air Policing: report from a hot spot

In November 2015, Airheadsfly.com went to Šiauliai airbase, Lithuania, to meet Hungarian Saab JAS39 Gripens protecting the Baltic states from intruders. In fact, we served as a practice target – and we happily did so. The story is here.

The Sentry’s Nest

On 20 March 2015, Airheadsfly.com was asked to join NATO’s E-3 airborne surveillance aircraft in the air during an air-to-air refueling session with a US Air National Guard KC-135 tanker. Our full story on that is here.
