Final flight from Dijon Airbase

The final military flight from BA 102 Dijon took place on 22 July 2015, roughly a hundred years after flying activities started on this French Air Force base in the central east of the country.

A TBM 700 of l’Escadron de Transport 41 (Transport Squadron 41) “Verdun” was the last aircraft to depart from Dijon, after the Mirage 2000s based there left in Summer 2011, followed by the Alpha Jets in Summer 2014. Dijon is closed as part of budget cuts and base realignment of the French armed forces.

The last 6 pilots, 20 engineers and 4 support personnel of Dijon will now continue their activities at BA 107 Villacoublay, located between Paris and Versailles.

Villacoublay is home to VIP squadrons of the French Air Force, flying A330s and the Falcon 7X, Falcon 900, Falcon 2000LX plus the TBM700s. Although the A330s normally operate from Paris-Orly. Moreover a squadron of Eurocopter (Airbus Helicopters) AS555ANs is based there.
