Czech Police to fly Bell 421EPI in SAR role

The Czech Police is to fly the Bell 412EPI for search and rescue missions from December 2015. Prague has ordered a single 412EPI on 18 June 2015, marking the first time the version is sold to a European country.

The Czech Police has been a long time customer, operating variations of Bell 412 aircraft for over 20 years.

The Bell 412EPI has a fully integrated “glass” flight deck. The systems are optimized for IFR, Category A and JAR OPS3 compliant operations. The avionics suite also includes high resolution digital maps, electronic charts and approach plates, ADS-B transponder and optional HTAWS and XM satellite links.

Two Pratt & Whitney’s PT6T-9 Twin Pac engines provide 15 percent more horsepower than the standard Bell 412. The Bell 412EPI features the BLR Strake and FastFin system, which modifies the tailboom to optimize airflow and improve handling, safety and lift.

Among other customers that recently ordered the Bell 412EPI is the Canadian Coast Guard.
