June 23rd saw the lift-off of the 25th Boeing 777 that Thai Airways ordered directly from Boeing. The 777-30ER (Extended Range) left the Boeing delivery center in Everett, Washington, to fly home to Bangkok.
Thai has operated nearly every model of the 777 over the last two decades and also currently operates five 787 Dreamliners. Thai Cargo was the first carrier in Southeast Asia to utilize the 777 Freighter and in January the two companies celebrated the airline’s 75th direct delivery from Boeing.
The 777-300ER is able to carry 386 passengers in a standard three-class configuration up to 7,825 nautical miles (14,490 kilometers), on non-stop routes.
Thai Airways has an additional 777-300ER on order.
