The Ministry of Health of Kuwait is expected to start operations with its first two Bell 429s in Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) configuration, being the first of the type in this role in Southwest Asia.
The Ministry of Health will be contracting the EMS Bell 429 through Al-Safwa Security and Defense Systems Company, with an expected delivery time of April 2015. Kuwait is currently flying two Bell 430s, which will stay in service once the new choppers arrive.
The Bell 429 is a light twin-engine helicopters with a fully integrated “glass cockpit”, and one that navigate according to the latest standards (WAAS/IFR). Additional safety features include a collective mounted throttle, damage tolerant hub and rotor system and energy attenuating seats.
