The US Federal Bureau of Investigation is getting more Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters. At the end of September 2015 the aviation fleet of the Tactical Aviation Unit of the Critical Incident Response Group will have at least five of these choppers: the two newly delivered ones plus three machines received in 2009. Airheadsfly.com could not get reliable intel on possible deliveries in the years 2010 – 2013.
Besides the Black Hawks the CIRG-TAU flies Bell 412s and Bell 407s. Its headquarters is at Quantico in Virginia, but the choppers fan out across the nation as the air wing for counter-terrorism and WMD response operations.
The United States is not the only country using the newest Black Hawk version as a law enforcement crisis response tool. For example the Swedish National Police can rely on the support of up to 15 UH-60Ms from the Swedish Armed Forces Helicopter Wing based at Linköping-Malmen, 110 miles (180 km) southwest of Stockholm. For special state visits, like when US President Barack Obama visited Sweden in 2013 two Försvarsmaktens Black Hawks were ready 24/7 at Stockholm-Bromma airport.
