Ukraine stocks up on Flankers and Fulcrums

The troubles in Ukraine are as about much about propaganda as they are about real, painful war. It’s no surprise then, that Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko had his picture taken this week while sitting in the cockpit of one newly refurbished Su-27 Flanker. Meanwhile, Ukraine considers buying Western-made military aircraft.

At Ozerne Airfield, the Sukhoi fighter aircraft was one of two reintroduced into service, along with two MiG-29 Fulcrums. Other pictures showed Poroshenko giving a supposedly inspiring speech to military personnel. The sad fact remains that the hostile situation in Eastern Ukraine has been ongoing for almost a year now.
