The Berkshire Hathaway company NetJets has firmed up its plan to buy 10 Embraer Signature Series Phenom 300 executive jets, worth US$ 89.6 million. The nice end of the year gift is based on an October 2010 deal for 50 firm Phenoms and 75 options. If the other 65 options are converted as well, the total deal will exceed more than a billion US dollars.
Embraer has now delivered 36 Phenom 300s to NetJets. These aircraft operate in the NetJets fleet, with fractional owners in the US and Europe. Deliveries of the 10 additional aircraft will begin as of January 2016.
The Phenom 300 performs has a relatively high speed cruise of 453 knots and can reach a destination 1,971 nautical miles (3,650 km) from its departure field with six people on board. This range allows non-stop flights from f. ex. Los Angeles to Orlando. The aircraft is capable of flying at 45,000 feet (13,716 meters), powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535E engines with 3,200 pounds of thrust each.
