South African offshore gets its 76 Delta

The Titan Helicopter Group (THG) has just accepted its first Delta version of the Sikorsky S-76 helicopter. The rotary wing on its way to its home country was already configured for offshore service, when it was handed over on 17 December 2014 in Wappingers Falls, New York.

The S-76D helicopter that THG will operate will be on lease from Milestone Aviation Group. Milestone, registered in the Irish capital of Dublin, was the first larger lessor in the world focusing entirely on the helicopter market. Its current fleet of rotary wings includes 55 Sikorsky S-92s and 31 Sikorsky S-76s, but also holds European made helicopters like the Airbus Helicopters EC225 and the AgustaWestland AW189.

Estabilished in 1993 in South Africa the Titan Helicopter Group currently flies the Sikorsky S-76A++, the S-76C, the S-76C and the legendary S-61N (Sea King). “The S-76D is the medium-sized aircraft of choice for various offshore customers in Africa, and THG is excited to be the first operator to introduce the aircraft on the continent,” said Jide Adebayo, COO of the Titan Helicopter Group.
