Azerbaijan Airlines’ first Dreamliner

Azerbaijan Airlines got its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner on 23 December 2014, becoming the first former Soviet state to start operating the type.

The airline will kick-start strategic plans to expand its long-haul flights from Baku. Based at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, state-owned Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) currently flies a network of over 20 destinations across the United States, China, Commonwealth of Independent States, the Middle East and Europe.

To date, 58 customers from around the world have ordered 1,055 787 Dreamliners.
