Air India’s fully-owned regional subsidiary brand Alliance Air introduced its first newest ATR 72-600 regional airliner to its fleet on 16 December 2014. The aircraft, leased from Singapore-based leasing firm Avation, is the first out of five that the airline will receive until July next year.
The brand new ATR 76-600 is configured with 70 seats. Alliance Air currently has 4 ATR 42-320s among its fleet of regional aircraft. Alliance Air operates 170 flights per week to 25 destinations in India.
The ATR 72-600s it is introducing are fitted with Pratt & Whitney 127M engines, and features a full-glass cockpit with the up-to-date navigation aid tools. Its maximum flight range with full load is 900 nautical miles (1,665 km).
As of today, ATR has more than 20 aircraft flying in India. It also has a Bangalore-based customer support center.
