Northern Iraq logistic ops continue with Belgian C-130

The European and North American relief flights continuted on 28 August 2014 with Belgium Air Component C-130H with serial CH-07 landing in Erbil, Northern Iraq. The plane transported non-perishable food, medicine and clothes donated by Belgian communities and parishes for the thousands of refugees in Iraqi Kurdistan.

The Belgian Hercules made a stop over at Burgas in Bulgaria on its way to Iraq. It is expected back at Melsbroek / Brussels in Belgium on 29 August 2014. Belgium is the fourth nation that operates under the umbrella of the European Air Transport Command based at Eindhoven while moving humanitarion goods to Northern Iraq. France, Germany and the Netherlands have ferried cargo as well. Sweden sent two of its Hercs under its own command, while Denmark is moving a Herc to Cyprus for both weapons and humanitarian flights.
