Russia had its own war games over the last few months, and now NATO is not to stay behind. This June, US Air Force B-2 Stealth and B-52 Stratofortress bombers are operating out of RAF Fairford in the UK.

The big bombers are in the UK for familiarization purposes. Fairford has played host to B-52 aircraft before. During the 1999 Kosovo war and the 2003 war in Iraq, B-52s flew numerous combat mission from this airfield, located in southern England.

The presence of B-2s in the European theater is quite unique, as the type is normally only seen at its home plate, being Whiteman Air Force Base, or obscure locations such as Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.
