Mexico plans to buy 18 Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters. The US State Department has already given the okay on 17 April 2014, it is now up to the US Congress to give the final green light.

For the price of US$ 680 million the Black Hawks will come in the standard configuration, with T700-GE-701 engines, embedded global position systems / inertial navigation systems, 36 M134 Machine Guns (7.62 mm), 5 mission planning systems, 18 AN/AVS-9 Night Vision Goggles and a ground power unit. Plus spares for the engines and the GPS/INS. The comm suite will exist of AN/ARC-210 RT-8100 series radios and an Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system.

Mexico plans to improve and modernise its army with the new Black Hawks, using them as well to combat drug trafficking.
