The Ministry of Security of the Buenos Aires Province, Argentine, will gain a fourth AS350 B3 Écureuil helicopter, manufacturer Airbus Helicopters announced last weekend at the FIDAE 2014 fair in Chile. The chopper will be deployed for surveillance and rescue missions, along with secondary roles.
Apart from the AS350s the ministry – which controls the police force – operates five BO105s. The B3 variant of the AS350 has the more powerful Arriel 2B engine with an advanced digital control and a mechanical back-up system. It has dual hydraulics and can lift with a larger weight than previous models.
