We at AIRheads↑Fly say Congrats! to Brazilian Embraer for the 10th anniversary of the E-Jet in flight. On 8 March 8 2004 LOT Polish Airlines and US Airways each received an E170. LOT was the the first to put the new jet into real action, on a commercial flight from Warsaw to Vienna on 17 March. US Airways was the launch customer of the E-Jet in the USA.

Embraer is the only manufacturer to have developed a family of four modern airplanes specifically for the 70 to 130-seat capacity segment. Since the formal launch of the program in 1999, Embraer E-Jets have entered service with flagcarriers, low-cost and regional airlines, and with scheduled tour companies. A total of 65 airliners in 45 countries operate the jet.

In September 2013, Embraer delivered its 1,000th E-Jet to Republic Airlines in the USA. That same year, the worldwide E-Jets fleet surpassed 10 million flight hours, with more than 7 million starts and landings and carried some 540 million passengers.

Development on the E-Jets continue, with the modernized E-Jet E2 series scheduled for customer delivery in 2018.
