Guernsey-based regional carrier Aurigny Air Services goes jet with its first ever order for a non-propellor aircraft. Aurigny choose the Embraer E195 to increase its daily flights from London Gatwich to/from Guernsey from six to eight.

Aurigny Air Services currently flies turboprops. With 122 seats in single-class layout, the E195 will enable the carrier to increase nopt only the number of daily flights but also to number of passengers.

“The London Gatwick route is very important for us. We’ve been tasked by the State of Guernsey to increase capacity and upgrade the quality of our overall service so we decided to move up to a jet. The E195 was the natural choice”, said Aurigny’s CEO Mark Darby.
