Philippine Airlines (PAL) has taken delivery of its first Airbus A321. The aircraft was handed over at the Airbus centre in Hamburg, Germany, in the beginning of August. It is the first of 64 new Airbus aircraft ordered by the Asian airliner. Apart from 44 A321s PAL will get 20 wide-body A330s.

Philippine Airlines’ A321s will have 12 seats in Business Class and 187 places in Economy. They will fly on international Asian routes as well as flights within the Philippines. The airliner already has 22 A320s, plus operates another nine with its budget daughter company PAL Express.

Eight A330s operate on flights within Asia and seven A340-300s on long-distance flights to/from the USA. Four additional A340-300s will start flying to/from European destinations from the beginning of September 2013.
